Workers’ compensation is a service that a variety of workers use every year.

This service is primarily responsible for providing benefits for workers who have been injured at work or who may have contracted a work-related illness.

These benefits may be provided by the federal government, a state organization or insurance carried by your employer, depending on where you work, and typically include compensation for medical services that you use to help heal your injury.

One of the first steps that you should take when deciding to use your workers’ compensation benefits is to determine whom you need to contact for information about receiving your benefits and what form of medical services are covered by your employer.

At Health Plus Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center, our team is experienced in working with people who are using workers’ compensation to deal with their job-related injuries, and we will work closely with your doctor and other entities to ensure that your rehabilitation process is as straightforward and smooth as possible.

What types of injuries can we help you treat while you’re claiming workers’ compensation?

When you’re using your workers’ compensation benefits at Health Plus Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center, our team stands ready to assist you with a variety of injuries that you may have received while you were at work.

One of the most common types of injuries that causes people to seek workers’ compensation is repetitive motion injuries received while on the job. These repetitive motion injuries may include things like rotator cuff injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome or tendonitis.

Hand and wrist fractures are injuries that we are also accustomed to seeing in compensation cases. Since almost every job requires the use of your hands in some way, your hands are one of the most likely body parts to be damaged while you’re at work.

No matter which of these injuries has caused you to seek workers’ compensation, our team has a variety of ways that we can assist you with your recovery process.

How we can assist you with your injuries from a workers’ compensation claim

One of the biggest benefits for you if you’ve successfully filed a workers’ compensation claim is that this compensation may be used to pay for treatments you receive at Health Plus Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center. In fact, our team can use physical therapy to potentially help you restore function in your injured body part and get you back to work as soon as possible with a personalized therapy plan.

To determine the best techniques to use in your therapy plan, our therapists will first perform an initial evaluation of your condition. This evaluation will allow us to determine things such as your initial level of pain and which of your body’s structures are being affected by your injury. Our team will then use this information to determine exactly what techniques should be included in your workers’ compensation therapy plan.

Techniques that may be included in your workers’ compensation physical therapy plan

Here at Health Plus Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center, our team of dedicated and experienced physical therapists can help you craft a workers’ compensation therapy program that uses the most effective and relevant research-based techniques for your injury.

One technique that we may use in your therapy plan is ultrasound therapy. This form of therapy involves a therapist from our team using an ultrasound machine and the sound waves that it produces to potentially reduce the tenseness in your injured body structures, such as muscles. By reducing your tension in this way, our therapists may be able to help reduce your level of pain without habit-forming pain medication.

Another technique that our therapy plans commonly include is cold therapy. In this type of therapy, various forms of cold, such as ice packs and ice baths, are used to counter the heat produced by the pain and inflammation in your injured body part. By taking away the heat and pain in this area with cold therapy, our team can potentially reduce your pain and restore circulation to your injured area.

A third commonly-used technique that our physical therapists have found to be effective with a variety of workplace-related injuries is education. Education may, in fact, be one of the most important forms of therapy that you receive from our therapists. This is because learning about things, such as ways to help improve your posture, proper lifting techniques, how to support your wrists correctly to prevent carpal tunnel and other helpful topics, may allow you to more quickly recover from your injury and potentially prevent such injuries from recurring in the future.

We do use multiple modalities and therapeutic intervention for worker compensation patient besides Ultra Sound, Ice pack and Patient education.

Typically, we have to follow referring doctor’s prescription regarding modalities (Ultra sound, Electric stimulation etc) and Therapeutic exercises protocol if patients are a post-operative patient. We will do wok your referring doctor’s prescription and those treatment has to be pre-approved by their case manager.
